I believe that we are all a part of something larger, like a family, a company or a society and that systemic lens helps to guide my work. Add to that a wider lens that takes the “blame” off of you and that is when you can really shine.

Making the decision to go to therapy is the first step in your journey to overall wellness. I have over 25 years of experience helping people and their families find solutions. I offer a nonjudgmental, down to earth style that will ease you into the process. If you are struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, loss or the complex family issues that result from addiction, I can help you learn to cope and find hope through CBT and mindfulness techniques. I am eager to help empower you to find solutions, supports and to explore barriers that may be preventing you from reaching your goals.

I have extensive experience in family therapy, grief and loss, couples counselling and substance use disorders. As a Licensed Clinical Social worker and Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor I specialize in helping individuals and families cope with the loss and despair of loving someone with a substance use disorder.

True healing happens by letting yourself break and slowly putting yourself back together. The journey is long and often messy, but this isn't a race. I approach therapy from a trauma-informed lens which allows people to deeply feel their emotions instead of bypassing them. Toxic positivity has zero place here. Let's sit with the hard stuff together.

  • Marcus Wright

    LAC

I am a Licensed Associate Counselor who believes that life should be about living and not surviving. Life has so many beautiful moments that are meant to be enjoyed and shared, and it is important that we make the time to do just that. Family and friends are an important aspect of my life. Moments shared with the people that hold a meaningful place in my life seem all the sweeter. However, I believe that it is also important to put that same level of care and appreciation into one's self as well. Placing a strong focus on my personal self, whether that be physically or mentally, can ensure a more positive and confident approach to many of life's challenges.

  • Sara Benjamin

    LSW

  • Samia Qadri

It is important to be patient and have empathy for yourself during therapy. The brain and body require you to be in sync when working through the changes you would like to make. Therapy is a process.

A strong feeling of trust between you and your therapist is a significant indicator of your progress in therapy. The therapeutic space is yours and I honor the privilege to be invited to it by protecting it as confidential.

“The strongest people are not those who show strength in front of us but those who win battles we know nothing about.”
